Bank of America to Halt Some Local Foreclosures

Last summer, Bank of America bought Countrywide. Countrywide was the nation’s largest sub prime lender. As a part of a settlement agreement with the Arizona Attorney Generals office, Bank of America has suspended foreclosure notices for about 2,000 homes in the Greater Phoenix Area and many more in the rest of Arizona. The bank will work with the borrowers for these loans and try to modify the loans to make the payments more affordable so they can stay in their homes.
