Seen at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve
There are a lot of birds visiting and living at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve. We enjoyed a walk through the preserve on March 30 and saw quite a variety of birds. Here is what we saw: Anna’s Hummingbird, Black-chinned Hummingbird, Greater Egret, Snowy Egret, American Coot, Canada Goose, Mallard, White-crowned Sparrow, Curve-billed Thrasher, Neotropic Cormorant, Black-necked Stilt, Verdin, Green Heron, Mourning Dove, Inca Dove, Northern Shoveler, Grebe Sp., Great Blue Heron, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Killdeer, Gambel’s Quill, Sandpiper Sp., Cinnamon Teal, American Avocet, Spipe. We also think we saw a Red Tailed Hawk but it was pretty far away and difficult to make a clear identification. We also saw lots of cottontail rabbits and a turtle.
