As I was driving down 7th Street I saw the corporate headquarters for O’Reilly Autoparts. A fancy new building with a cool copper sculpture. Then I notice water flowing from the center into a pool. I had to stop.
Then I see the water going down into the underground garage. What do you think? I’m impressed.
There are Saguaro’s everywhere in Arizona. There protected, so you just cannot cut one down or even move it in your yard without a permit.
Here’s some with arms and without. Do you know how long it takes before a Saguaro will start growing an arm?

Tempe Town Lake at Sunset
The winter months in this part of Arizona will give you sunny days in the 60′s. With chilly mornings and the occasional freeze warning. This is a view of downtown Phoenix from Tempe Town Lake.
But, as you look northeast, you might just catch a glimpse of the ‘other Arizona’, one that is 5000 feet in elevation and covered in snow. This is Four Peaks, the closest mountain range to the Phoenix metro area that gets any significant amount of snow.If you read a lot of blogs you might have come across photo hunts or picture of the day blogs. They’re pretty cool. You can see photos from all over the world from amateur and/or professional photographers. Here’s two you should check out. The first one is called: Tnchick.com. Each Friday she has a theme and people from all over the country will put pictures on their blogs. Today it is “Old Fashioned” and I have these three pictures:
This is the old church in the town of Guadalupe, Arizona. This is a small town next to Tempe. I think this is the prettiest church around. I hope you do too.
Just to the north is the Double Butte Cemetery. What most people don’t know is that there is a cemetery on the east side of the highway. Only flat markers are allowed and the entire plot is gravel. Very Arizona. Looks like most of the people died around 1978.
Finally, back in Guadalupe are two shrines on a hill. I took all three pictures with my camera phone, so sorry about the quality.
